c-Axis transport in YBa2Cu3O7−x /PrBa2Cu3O7−x superlattices — •Hernán Rodríguez, Juan Carlos Martínez, Gerhard Jakob, and Hermann Adrian — Institut für Physik, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität, 55099 Mainz
The objective of this work is to check the influence of the superlattice structures on the superconducting density of states of high temperature superconductors. Structures of high quality (YBa2Cu3O7−x:n=2 /PrBa2Cu3O7−x:m) superlattices have been prepared by high pressure DC sputtering with m ranging between 3 and 9 unit cells. Additional satellites observed in θ −2θ X-ray scans indicates from their position and intensities, the high quality of our samples. The spectra were analyzed with help of the SUPREX program, which allows to estimate parameters like interdiffusion, step disorder and roughness.
At low temperatures exhibit the superlattices tunneling characteristics along the c-axis direction Our results will be discussed according to the theoretical predictions of Hahn [1] for the density of states of a layered system.
