Epitaxial growth of pure and Ag-doped YBa2Cu3O7−x on biaxially textured metal substrates — •Laura Fernander G.-R., Bernhard Holzapfel, and Ludwig Schultz — Helmholtzstr.20, 01069 Dresden
Epitaxial pure and Ag-doped YBa2Cu3O7−x films have been grown onto biaxially assisted textured Ni substrates (RABiTS) by laser ablation of pure YBa2Cu3O7−x and YBa2Cu3O7−x-Ag targets with 2 wt% and 10wt% of Ag. The growth of pure and doped YBa2Cu3O7−x films was studied and optimised, comparing microstructural and transport properties in both cases. The configuration of the samples was YBCO/YSZ/CeO2/Ni. CeO2 and the YSZ films were grown epitaxially onto the Ni tape using also laser ablation. The combination of both materials produced a good buffer layer system for the growth of YBa2Cu3O7−x, avoiding damaging of the YBa2Cu3O7−x film with the Ni tape.
