Storms and substorms in the magnetosphere are accompanied by enhanced magnetospheric electric fields associated with an increase in convection and intensified wave activity. New data from the Electron Drift Instruments (EDI) of the Cluster mission will be presented. They comprise several outbound Cluster orbits above the Northern polar cap up to the magnetopause. These measurements will be related to corresponding ground-based data from the Superdarn radars and the Sondrestrom incoherent scatter radar.
