Aspects of the Renormalization of Noncommutative Gauge Theories — •Raimar Wulkenhaar — MPI für Mathematik, Leipzig
Yang-Mills theory on noncommutative space-time characterized by a constant field θ recently became very attractive. Reasons are the possibility to perform explicit calculations, their very strange results and the even more mysterious Seiberg-Witten map between noncommutative and commutative field theories. The renormalization of such models has to deal with a new type of infrared singularities. Circumventing the infrared problem by Seiberg-Witten expansion in θ one obtains a power-counting non-renormalizable theory. The talk will report on some progress to overcome these difficulties.
