Pattern recognition at the HERA-B experiment — •Yuri Gorbunov1, Dmitri Emilianov2, and Ivan Kisel3 — 1Fachbereich Physik, Universität Siegen — 2Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron, Hamburg — 3Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, München
The HERA-B experiment at DESY is a large acceptance spectrometer, originaly planned to detect B mesons produced in fixed target proton (920GeV) nucleus interactions. One of the challenging components of this spectometer is the tracking system. It has to cope with up to 100 charged tracks per event.
We will present the track reconstruction package and illustrate its performance. The package employs an automaton for track searching and the Kalman filter technique for track fitting.
