The data of the pixel detector are transmitted via an optical link consisting of a VCSEL laser for data transmission and a PIN diode for reception of clock and control signals. The driving and receiving electronic chips are designed in radiation hard CMOS technology. The general system design and the performence of the chips in DMILL technology is presented.
