In the recent years, high-quality nucleon-nucleon potentials have been developed, which describe the current NN database with a χ2≈ 1. A question of interest is now, whether these modern nucleon-nucleon potentials are also adequate to describe three-nucleon systems and to which extent three-nucleon forces have to be taken into account. Possible observables which are sensitive to three-nucleon forces are the differential cross section and the vector analyzing power of elastic proton-deuteron scattering. To make a systematic investigation of three-nucleon force effects, both observables have been measured at KVI at several energies between 100 MeV and 200 MeV for a center-of-mass angular region between 30∘ and 170∘. In this contribution, the experimental techniques used for the measurements along with the preliminary results of the measurements will be presented.
