Status of the IH-7-Gap Resonators for MAFF — •Henning Bongers, Stephan Emhofer, Dieter Habs, Oliver Kester, and Thomas Sieber — Am Coulombwall 1, 85748 Garching

The Munich Accelerator for Fission Fragments (MAFF) is under construction at the new highflux neutron source No-dqForschungsreaktor München IINo-dq (FRM II). One major goal of MAFF is the production of new super-heavy elements with long half-times, therefore final energies between 3.7 MeV/u and 5.9 MeV/u are required in order to reach the Coulomb barrier. The booster LINAC of MAFF delivers beams with energies of 4.15 MeV/u and 5.40 MeV/u respectively. To cover this entire range of energies an energy variable structure, consisting of two identical IH-7-Gap resonators, is used to accelerate or decelerate the fission fragment beam to the desired final energy.

The status of these IH-7-Gap resonators and a proposal to use a modified structure as additional cavity for REX-ISOLDE at CERN will be presented.
