Several Experiments on 12C(α,γ)16O have been performed at the 4 MV Dynamitron accelerator in Stuttgart with arrays of high efficient HPGe(BGO)-detectors to obtain γ angular distributions in a wide energy range. From these the E1 and E2 cross sections can be separated, which are required to describe the complex capture mechanism of this reaction with several interfering states and the non-resonant capture. From an R-matrix analysis one obtains an appropriate model description of this reaction and the extrapolation into the stellar energy range of stellar burning temperatures. The status of the experiments and several results will be presented and discussed.
