The Jülich pion-nucleon model — •Achot M. Gasparyan , Johann Haidenbauer, Christoph Hanhart, and Josef Speth — FZ Jülich, IKP, 52425 Jülich

The coupled channel model of the π N interaction developed by the Jülich group [1] yields a quite satisfactory description of the π N phase shifts and inelasticities as well as of the η N differential and total cross sections in the energy range from the π N threshold up to about 1600 MeV. Presently we are extending this model to higher energies and we will report corresponding results at this meeting.

For the extension to higher energies further channels like K Λ, K Σ, and ω N (which open at center of mass energies within the region 1600-1700 MeV) have to be included. In addition, contributions from several pole diagrams, in particular of the S31(1620), P13(1720) and D33(1700) resonances, are considered.
