Large-scale numerical simulations of Bose-Einstein condensates with long-lange attractive interactions — •Matt Kalinski1, G Kurizki2, K Vogel1, and W P Schleich11Abteilung für Quantenphysik, Universität Ulm, Ulm, Germany — 2Department of Chemical Physics, The Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel

We solve the exact 3-dimensional, time-dependent Gross-Pitaevskii equation for the Bose-Einstein condensate with long-range oscillatory attractive interaction using recently developed nonlinear split-operator method [1]. The Gross-Pitaevskii propagator is calculated by approximating the exact propagator by the product of free-Boson propagator and two infinite-mass propagators which include the self-interaction. The Poisson-like equation is solved by calculating the convolution of the condensate density and the interaction potential using Fast Fourier transform method. We inspect the quality of the ground state obtained from the tight-binding (LCAO) approximation by the relaxation method through the imaginary time integration as well as small oscillations around the equilibrium.
