Entanglement Measures for Gaussian States with 1×1 Modes — •O. Krüger, R.F. Werner, and M.M. Wolf — Institut für Mathematische Physik, TU Braunschweig, D-38106 Braunschweig
Bright laser beams, which are typically modelled by Gaussian states of the light field, are of increasing importance in quantum information processing. Their value as an entanglement resource, e.g., for teleportation is quantitatively characterized by the usual entanglement measures, such as the relative entropy of entanglement, the entanglement of formation and the logarithmic negativity.
For the case of bipartite Gaussian states with 1×1 modes, we present an investigation of these three entanglement measures. We introduce a parametrization of these states up to local unitary equivalence and show how to use it to simplify the optimization problem. This leads to upper bounds for the relative entropy of entanglement and the entanglement of formation. The logarithmic negativity can be calculated exactly.
