We propose and discuss schemes for efficient and robust generation of complex entangled states in interacting many-particle systems governed by nonlinear spin Hamiltonians. Different dynamical techniques based on adiabatic passage are identified, that allow a controlled navigation in the multidimensional Hilbert space. Maximally entangled states, such as the N-particle analog of the Greenberger, Horne and Zeilinger (GHZ) state can be reached in a few steps. The process is robust and works for even and odd particle numbers. We discuss realizations of the model in ion-traps, two-component Bose condensates and frozen Rydberg gases with resonant dipole-dipole interaction [1].
