Magnetic nanoclusters dispersed within polymer matrix are interesting for large variety of technological applications in the form of functional composite materials. Composite films of Teflon AF 2400 containing Ni magnetic nanoparticles have been prepared by using vapor phase deposition of polymer and simultaneous thermal evaporation of metal. Polymer/metal layer systems with 2D and 3D cluster distribution preparation are presented. The formation of Ni nanoclusters (10 - 20 nm) embedded in the polymer host is evidenced by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) on the prepared composites. The TEM micrographs have indicated nearly homogeneous cluster size distribution within the polymer matrix which depends on the metal filling factor and the substrate temperature. Film preparation conditions, parameters along with the possible applications are discussed and approaches to increase the filling factor are suggested.
