The paper deals with the photoconductivity spectra of the CdxMn1-xTe (x to belong to [0.45;1.0]) monocrystals and the thin layers of these compounds. The spectra of the monocrystal photoconductivity for the compounds (x to belong to [0.4;0.7]) are made of a narrow band which correlates well with the excitonic line in the absorption spectra both at a temperature of 293K and low temperatures. At the same time, alongside the excitonic band in the low energies for the compounds (x to belong to [0.45;0.6]) a band impure in nature appears, the width and intensity of which decrease with the increase of the x composition. Both the borderline band and the impure band move at speeds of about 3,6 10-4eV/K in the high-energy domain when temperature is decreased in the corresponding domain. Analysis of the absorption and photoconductivity spectra for the thin layers CdxMn1-xTe in the depth of the basic absorption band enables the calculation of the diffusion path and the recombination speed through the surface layers of the unbalanced charge carriers.
