This paper presents the results of the investigation of the electrical conductivity statically and at a high frequency of the optical reflection and transmission of the thin layers of the compounds Ni5La, Ni5Ce, and Ni5Y for the temperature interval 78-293K. The dependence of the static electrical conductivity of the Ni5(La,Ce,Y) layers on layer thickness and temperature was established. In the LaNi5 layers of d=300A, the electricall conductivity increases with temperature from 78K to a maximum of T=270K, and decreases abruptly if temperature is raised at 300K. By increasing the layer thickness, the conductivity increase slope decreases without emphasizing the anomalous dependence characteristic to thin layers. The experimental results are interpreted taking into account the spreading of the mobile-charge carriers at the surface layers.
