Elastic properties of THF clathrate hydrates — •Sascha Eschborn and Rudolf Feile — Institute for Solid State Physics, Darmstadt University of Technology
The elastic properties and the local hydrogen bonding of the THF clathrate hydrate single crystals stable below 4∘C at ambient pressure are investigated by Raman and Brillouin spectroscopy. Polarized Raman spectra may indicate a lockering of the molecular orientations below 80 K. This show the influence of the cage geometry on the motion of the guest molecules.
