Effect of compensation on properties of diluted magnetic semiconductors — •Josef KUDRNOVSKÝ1, Ilja TUREK2, Václav DRCHAL1, and František MÁCA1 — 1Institute of Physics AS CR, Prague, Czech Republic — 2Institute of Physics of Materials, Brno, Czech Republic
We present the density-functional study of electronic, magnetic, and transport properties of (Ga,Mn)As alloys with a particular emphasis put on the effect of compensation due to e.g. As-antisites. The atomic and magnetic disorders are treated in the coherent potential approximation and the disordered local moment picture, respectively. The exchange parameters of the classical alloy Heisenberg Hamiltonian are determined and further employed to estimate e.g. the Curie temperature of the system. Finally, we determine residual resistivities due to the system disorder in the framework of the Kubo-Greenwood formulation.
