The directional coherent resonant scattering of excitons in GaAs single quantum wells is studied experimentally and theoretically [1] using light-scattering. Both the time-resolved and the time-integrated, spectrally resolved scattering is investigated. An enhancement of the scattered intensity in the back-scattering direction is found, with a spectral and temporal dynamics in quantitative agreement with theory. The intensity enhancement is rather small (<20 %), and its directional width is large due to the small localization length of quantum well exciton waves as compared to the light wavelength.
