Magnetic Compton profile of UFe2 — •Diana Benea and Hubert Ebert — Departament Chemie, University of Munich, Butenandtstr. 5-13, D-81377 München, Germany

A fully relativistic scheme to determine the magnetic Compton profile is presented. The magnetic Compton profile of UFe2 has been calculated using the spin-polarised relativistic Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker(SPR-KKR) method of bandstructure calculations. This approach accounts for all relativistic effects, as it is indispensible when dealing with the electronic structure of this interesting magnetic compound. In accordance with previous theoretical work, a change of the orbital moment of U is found when Brooks orbital polarisation term is included. Results obtained for the magnetic Compton profile are found in good agreement with experiments of Lawson et al. The importance of relativistic effects of the orbital polarisation term for the magnetic Compton profile, that primarily reflect the spin magnetisation, will be discussed.
