Semiclassical Spin-dependent Transport in Inhomogeneous Magnetic Fields — •Tobias Paul and Klaus Richter — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Regensburg 93040 Regensburg

We consider semiclassical methods to describe spin - dependent transport of electrons in model systems with inhomogeneous magnetic fields. For this purpose we make use of a recently introduced mapping formalism [1,2] which allows us to describe the discrete spin degree of freedom as a continous degree of freedom on a semiclassical level.

The resulting Hamiltonfunctions are analytically investigated, and numerical studies yield very promising results for the semiclassically calculated spin - dependent transmission coefficients.
