Study of the evolution of the adsorption layer at the sulphurous mineral surface using the luminescence radiation — •Radu Todoran and Daniela Todoran — North University of Baia Mare, Romania
The study of the adsorption phenomena and of the possibilities to modify them plays an important role in the research of the flotation process of ores. The paper shows continuous determinations of the luminescence variation provoked by the excitement of the layer adsorbed at the interface of the xanthate solution and the sulphurous ore surface. When using the same laser source of excitement, the variation of luminescence could be explained by the presence of a certain number of molecules which become deenergized, thus generating the luminescence radiation. The presence of a different number of xanthate molecules at the interface is connected to the evolution of the adsorption layer. The continuous monitoring during the adsorption process allows of the evaluation of the kinetics of this process by in situ measurements which in its turns allows of a better approach to the evolution and achievement of the adsorption layer.
