Experimental and theoretical investigations are performed for laser cladding of metallic materials by CO2 and Nd:YAG laser radiation on metalic substrats for different processing variables as laser power, powder feed rate and processing velocity as well as in dependence on substrate properties such as surface properties and geometry. Applications like generating and repair of workpieces are demonstrated including state-of-the-art and future developments.
