Use of a High Resolution Overview Spectrometer for Fusion Boundary Plasmas — •S. Brezinsek, Ph. Mertens, A. Pospieszczyk, and G. Sergienko — Institut für Plasmaphysik, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, EURATOM Assoziation, Trilateral Euregio Cluster
Passive spectroscopy in the visible range is a standard technique for the investigation of atomic (D, C, He, B, W, Ne ) and molecular (CD, D2, BD) particle fluxes in the plasma edge of fusion plasmas. To observe the emission of atoms and molecules simultaneously from a given observation volume, the whole spectrometer system has to fulfill high demands with respect to the spectral resolution, the wavelength range, the sensitivity and the dynamic range of the detection system. An echelle overview spectrometer using a pre-dispersive element and a high dispersion grating was used to fulfill these requirements. Spectra in the wavelength range between 375 nm and 675 nm with a constant resolving power of about 20 000 could be recorded by means of a 16 bit CCD camera.
