Modeling a capillary discharge with PLASIMO — •Bart Broks, Kurt Garloff, and Joost van der Mullen — Eindhoven University of Technology, PO Box 513, 5600 MB Eindhoven

Capillary discharges are under investigation for use as waveguides in Laser Wakefield Accelerators. We are interested in creating a numerical model of this type of discharge, in order to be able to conduct a parameter study with the goal of predicitng the optimal discharge conditions.

For this numerical modeling, we will use the PLASIMO (PLasma SImulation MOdel) code, developed at the Eindhoven University of Technology. In this contribution, the assuptions used to create the model, as well as the improvements made to PLASIMO to be able to handle the problem, will be treated.
