The multi-crystal X-ray spectrometer installed on the TORE SUPRA allows to measure the spectra of He-like ions with high resolution. The spectra supply crucial information about main plasma parameters, diffusion processes of heavy impurity elements from Ar to Cu. Modeling of He-like spectra developed at TEXTOR for Ar ions has been applied to the description of Ti- and Fe- spectra measured on TORE SUPRA.
High quality collision strengths have been generated for He- and Li- like Ti and Fe using a radiation and Auger damped R-matrix method, the latter utilizing the intermediate coupling frame transformation approach. These collision strengths have been associated with their infinite energy limit, and Maxwell - averaged to form the rate coefficients. In addition, resonance capture rates have been generated along with their associated Auger widths to describe fully the dielectronic recombination processes and the inherent satellite line emission.
The results obtained on TORE SUPRA for He-like spectra provide new insights into the understanding of impurity diffusion and atomic processes relevant for next step machines such as ITER.
