Simulation of Charge Transfer Efficiency in CCD Vertex Detectors in the LCFI Collaboration — •Ovidiu Ursache1,2 and André Sopczak1 — 1Lancaster University, UK — 2exchange student from Siegen University
The Linear Collider Flavour Identification (LCFI) collaboration studies CCD detectors for quark flavour identification in the framework of a future linear e+e− collider. The flavour identification is based on precision reconstruction of charged tracks very close the interaction point. Therefore, this detector will be exposed to a high level of radiation and radiation hardness is an important aspect of the detector development. First results of simulations of the charged transport properties of a new prototype of CCD chip are reported. The simulation program allows to study the effect of radiation damage, and the detector properties are compared before and after the exposure of a realistic radiation dose, which is expected in the environment of the detector operation at a future LC. A comparison of the simulation with measurements is foreseen.
