A readout for the LHCb Outer Tracker — •Dirk Wiedner, Sebastian Bachmann, Harald Deppe, Tanja Haas, Manuela Spieker, Uwe Stange, Ulrich Trunk, and Michael Walter — Physikalisches Institut Uni Heidelberg, Philosophenweg 12, 69120 Heidelberg

The LHCb experiment will investigate CP violation and rare decays of b-mesons. The LHCb Outer Tracker consists of 55000 straw drift tubes. The drift time is digitized on detector by a custom rad-hard TDC called OTIS, serialized and optically transmitted to the off detector electronics (ODE). The ODE board de-serializes the data, does error and synchronization checks, preprocesses data for the L1 trigger farm and stores the data until the level one decision. Data transfer to and processing on the ODE boards will be presented.
