Status of Evidence for Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay — •H.V. Klapdor-Kleingrothaus, A. Dietz, and I.V. Krivosheina — Max Planck Institut für Kernphysik, Heidelberg

The present experimental status in the search of neutrinoless double beta decay is reviewed, with emphasis on the first indication for this decay mode found in the Heidelberg-Moscow experiment, giving a first hint on lepton number violation and a Majorana structure of the neutrino. Future perspectives of the field are outlined.
