Production of Antihydrogen Atoms in Large Quantities — •Christian Regenfus — Zürich

Recently for the first time cold antihydrogen atoms were produced in large quantities [1] in the ATHENA experiment at CERN. An overview as well as a report on the current status of the experiment will be given with some emphasis on the detection method for antihydrogen atoms by means of their annihilations.
