We consider an ensemble of globally coupled nonlinear systems with multiplicative noise. While a single system has a stable fixed point in the deterministic case and exhibits random fluctuations in the stochastic case, the ensemble shows in a certain parameter region collective oscillations. This region is reached via a supercritical Hopf bifurcation.
