The laser display technology as an growing part of the multimedia industry needs high power lasers in the green and blue spectral range which have a compact design and a low price. Frequency- doubled solid state lasers, where an optical nonlinear crystal inside the cavity is used for frequency doubling, satisfy these demands. When the laser cavity is produced in a simple design, the output intensity tends to fluctuate periodically/chaotically, which is known as the green problem.

We present a pure electronic feedback control in order to stabilize the output intensity of an intracavity frequency- doubled Nd:YAG laser. By feeding back the infrared intensities in the two directions of polarization on the current of the pumping laser diode, we are able to stabilize the output power for moderate values of the pump power. To increase the reliability and output power, we extended the setup by a second pump laser diode which is polarized orthogonally to the first one.
