Due to magnetic stress a ferrofluid exposed to a rotating magnetic field can be set in motion. This fact is used to generate a steady flow in a circular channel filled with magnetic liquid. To understand the properties of this magnetic pump properly the frequency-dependence of the magnetic susceptibility must be measured under the given experimental circumstances.
