In the field of thin films solar cells, devices that employ Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) absorbers show promising efficiencies. The absorber material used has a Ga/(In+Ga)-content of about 25 %. This optimum composition was found empirically, but the reasons for this are not yet well understood. Using admittance spectroscopy and deep level transient spectroscopy (DLTS) we investigate solar cells with different Ga-contents. The defects and defect concentrations are compared with the parameters of the solar cells.
