Dicke Effect in the Tunnel Current through two Double Quantum Dots — •T. Vorrath1 and T. Brandes2 — 1I. Institut für Theoretische Physik, Jungiusstr. 9, 20355 Hamburg — 2Dept. of Physics, UMIST, PO Box 88, Manchester M60 1QD, UK
We consider two double quantum dots coupled to separate leads. An indirect interaction arises between the two double dots as both are coupled to the same phonon environment. We calculate the stationary tunnel current through the double dots using the Born-Markov approximation [1]. The indirect interaction between the double dots leads to collective effects visible in the tunnel current. We predict that the current can be increased as well as decreased depending on the choice of parameters. The change of the tunnel current is connected to the emergence of an entanglement of charge triplet or charge singlet between the dots. This effect is closely related to the Dicke super- and subradiance effect [2], which alters the emission characteristics of an ensemble of identical two-level atoms due to the coupling to the same radiation field.
