Speckles as a probe of exciton acceleration in a quantum well with energy slope — •Gianandrea Mannarini1, Wolfgang Langbein2, and Roland Zimmermann11Institut für Physik der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Hausvogteiplatz 5-7, 10117 Berlin — 2Experimentelle Physik IIb, Universität Dortmund, Otto-Hahn-Str. 4, 44221 Dortmund

The coherent emission from a single quantum well with interface disorder exhibits fluctuations both in detection direction and time elapsed after excitation, called speckles [1]. Applying a uniaxial stress gradient in the quantum well plane, the resonance energy acquires a slope and the speckle pattern gets tilted. A comparison with numerical simulations allows us to conclude on the interplay between exciton localization in the disordered potential landscape and its motion towards lower energy.
