Interdiffusion between Pd40Cu30Ni10P20 and Pd40Ni40P20 melts and self diffusion of Ni62 in molten Pd40Cu30Ni10P20 were measured in the temperature range from 873 K to 1373 K using the long-capillary method. The diffusion profiles were determined by means of EDX and ICP-MS. The self diffusion coefficients compare well with such ones, derived from quasi-elastic neutron scattering measurements and with diffusion coefficients calculated from viscosity data using the Stokes-Einstein relation. The correlation between the coefficients of inter- and self diffusion and the thermodynamic factor, which was calculated from literature data, was studied by use of the Darken-Manning relation.
