Phase transformations in mold-cast Nd_80−xFe_x (x = 15, 20, 25) and Nd₆₀Fe_xCo_30−xAl₁₀ (0 ≤ x ≤ 30) alloys were studied. The magnetic properties of as-cast and annealed samples were investigated with the help of a SQUID magnetometer and a pulse field of 50 T at different temperatures. The hard magnetic properties have been attributed to a metastable structure. Different characterization tools like XRD, SEM, TEM, and neutron scattering were used to study the structure and stoichiometry of the metastable phase. In addition, amorphous Nd_80−xFe_x (x = 15, 20, 25) thin films were prepared by PLD method and the results were compared with the mold-cast bulk samples.
