Scaling relations in binary alloys — •Heike Emmerich1, Matthias Jurgk2, and Ricardo da Silva Siquieri1 — 1Lehrstuhl für Thermodynamik, FB CT, Uni Dortmund, Emil Figge Str. 70, 44227 Dortmund — 2Max Planck Institut für Physik komplexer Systeme, Noethnitzer Str. 38, 01187 Dresden
Within this contribution a two scale model for a characteristic macroscopic domain of a binary alloy is introduced. This model is then employed to derive new scaling relations for the velocity of resulting morphologies in different regions of the phase diagram of a binary alloy. Their dependence on nucleation density and geometric constraints is investigated. Finally their impact on multi-scale approaches to treat a full solidifying sample is discussed.
