The first experimental observation of non-adiabatic parametric amplification of propagating spin wave (SW) packets with a controlled phase shift between signal and pumping carrier waves is reported. The SW packets (carrier frequency fs=7.3 GHz) propagating in an axially magnetized yttrium-iron garnet film waveguide were amplified parametrically (fp=2fs) by coherent electromagnetic pulses applied to a narrow (in comparison with a packets’ carrier wavelength) microstrip pumping inductor situated on the way of the packet. The obtained gain is found to be dependent on the phase between the signal and the pumping. It varies from the maximum value (15 dB) to the minimum value (corresponding to almost no gain) when the phase shift is changed on π /2. No phase dependence of the amplified signal has been found in the case of weak localization of the pumping field when an open dielectric resonator was used instead of the microstrip inductor.
