Technology for creation single photons is attracting permanent attention because of possible application in quantum cryptography and computation. Several scheme to produce single photons on demand have been proposed ranging from faint laser pulses to optically excited impurities in solid and quantum dots. Single quantum systems show important advantage in compare to attenuated classical (poissonian) sources because of complete suppression of multiple photon emission events. The only stable single photon source reported so far is a nitrogen-vacancy defect center in diamond. Serious disadvantage of single photon source based on N-V defect is spectrally broad emission band. In this paper we report on the new system for single photon source in near infrared (800 nm) based in Ni-related defect in diamond. Results of fluorescence intensity autocorrelation measurements are demonstrating the sub-piossonian statistics of the new single photon source.
