UNi2Al3 belongs to the heavy fermion
systems which are of special interest due to their presumably
unconventional superconductivity. The availability of epitaxial
thin film samples of this compound would allow new experimental
examinations like tunneling spectroscopy on planar junctions.
We attempt to prepare UNi2Al3 thin films by MBE deposition.
First results show that the preferential growth direction is the
crystallographic (110)-axis. Different substrate materials which
might support this growth mode were found. Thin UNi2Al3
films are characterized by XRD, SEM and AFM as well as by
measurements of the temperature dependent resistivity R(T).
