Fermi sea in a damped harmonic oscillator — •Florian Marquardt1 and Dmitri Golubev2 — 1Departement Physik und Astronomie, Universität Basel — 2Institut für Theoretische Festkörperphysik, Universität Karlsruhe
We consider a system of fermions in a harmonic oscillator, which are coupled to a fluctuating force deriving from a linear bath. This represents an extension of a well-known model first analyzed by Caldeira and Leggett to a case where the Pauli principle becomes important. Various properties of this quantum-dissipative many-particle system are discussed, including the Green’s functions as well as decay and dephasing of a nonequilibrium state.
