Quasiparticle interference effects in high-temperature superconductor - manganite junctions — •Mitja Schonecke, Bettina Welter, Lambert Alff, and Rudolf Gross — Walther-Meißner-Institut, Walther-Meißner-Str. 8, 85748 Garching
The tunneling conductance in d-wave superconductor / insulator / doped manganite (dS-I-F) junctions is still not satisfactorily clarified. We used YBa2Cu3O7−δ / La2/3Ba1/3MnO3−δ ramp-type junctions in order to investigate the interplay of ferromagnetism and unconventional superconductivity. The geometry of ramp-type junctions takes advantage of the larger coherence length of the superconductor in the ab-plane by coupling the two electrodes in this direction. The conductance spectra of junctions with small contact area show multiple sharp features which might be a due to phase coherence of Andreev reflected quasiparticles on a mesoscopic length scale.
