3d spectator hole satellites of the Cu K emission spectrum — •Christian Sternemann, Hartmut Enkisch, Michael Paulus, Martin Schenkel, Winfried Schülke, and Metin Tolan — Experimentelle Physik I / DELTA Universit/"at Dortmund, D-44221 Dortmund
Resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) spectra of the Cu Kα1, Kβ1,3, and Kβ2,5 fluorscence and its satellite lines have been measured as a function of incident photon energy at the beamlines SAW2 of DELTA and G3 of HASYLAB. By investigating the onset and saturation behaviour of the satellite lines their origination from 3d spectator hole states created by so called shake processes could be approved. Furthermore, the onset behaviour of the Cu Kα shake satellites for different spectator hole states are compared and described by the Thomas model. In order to achieve a spectral decomposition of the measured fluorescence spectra into its satellite and diagram lines the shape of the unoccupied density of states as well as the influence of the resonant Raman effect on the fluorescence spectra has been taken into account.
