We are preparing an isotope shift measurement for 8,9,11Li to determine the charge radii of these isotopes, particularly of the halo nucleus 11Li. A master-slave diode laser has been stabilized to a hyperfine line in the X 1Σg+→ B0u+ R(114) 11-2 transition of molecular 127I2 at λ=735 nm using frequency modulation (FM) saturation spectroscopy. This system serves as a reference laser for RF-offset locking of a titanium-sapphire laser, which will be finally used to scan across the 2S-3S two-photon transition in atomic lithium. The relative frequency accuracy required for the isotope shift measurement is < 200 kHz. In order to characterize the performance of the stabilization chain and to test the relock-accuracy of the reference laser we used the Ti:Sa laser to measure the hyperfine splitting in the iodine line. The results of these measurements will be reported.
