Recent measurements of the non-resonant valence photoemission of C60 in the oscillatory regime have shown that advanced theoretical calculations are capable to describe the measured cross-section behaviour in great detail [1]. The corresponding calculations predict also pronounced resonances in the partial cross section and angular distribution asymmetry parameter which have not been studied so far. We have therefore made measurements with high photon resolution and small energy steps in order to reveal the predicted resonance structures experimentally. The surprising result of these experiments was that most of the resonances are completely absent in the partial cross section curves measured simultaneously by time-of-flight detection for all valence transitions, but with particular emphasis on HOMO and HOMO-1. The same observation is made for the corresponding angular distribution asymmetry parameter curves. Possible explanations for this unexpected behaviour are discussed.
