We define a symmetric null coframe consisting of four real null covectors. We show that this coframe is closely related to the GPS-type coordinates introduced recently by Rovelli, see Blagojević et al. and references given there: Phys. Rev. D65 (2002) 044018 and http://arXiv.org/abs/gr-qc/0110078v3 .
