Dynamics of entangleed states under the influence of noise — •Florian Mintert and Andreas Buchleitner — Max Planck Institut für Physik komplexer Systeme Dresden
We consider a bipartite quantum system initially prepared in an entangled state. Unavoidable environment coupling will induce its temporal evolution into a mixed state, and in particular affect its entanglement properties. To describe the time evolution of the latter, we derive equations of motion for the parameters defining the Best Separable Approximation (BSA)[1]. Given a specific realization of the environment coupling, these allow to relate the decay of entanglement to well known damping processes.
