Among the relevant performance aspects of the HADES dielectron spectrometer are a good momentum resolution for electrons and the capability to identify electron pairs with small opening angle. The latter stem predominantely from external pair conversion of energetic photons. An active suppression of these events substantially reduces the combinatorial background in the reconstructed invariant mass spectrum of lepton pairs. In this contribution we will report on a calibration procedure which involves simulated detector responses. Two dimensional correction functions map measured drift times to the configuration space in which track models are minimized. The improvement of the momentum resolution as well as concepts for two track separation will be discussed.
